Where is Gadsden Headed ?
First, I’m convinced of the goodness of Gadsden's people.
In spite of mistakes, misjudgments or misdirection in the past,
Gadsden usually shines through as a success story. Our people make it so!
Change is inevitable,
and it has been said that all progress is change.
But all change is not necessarily progress.
Gadsden always needs progressive change.
As Mayor of Gadsden Alabama I will work hard to have a city government responsive to a majority of our people.
As Mayor I will work hard at City Hall to
LISTEN to the public,
and to let our citizens,
not so much our city administrators,
to Set The Agenda for our city.
The PRIMARY thing Gadsden's government needs to do:
It is also important that families and working people from every neighborhood and every sector of Gadsden should also be heard and considered in the local government process.
Why do so few people participate in Gadsden's election process?
When we have representatives elected by so few voters in Gadsden,
we risk having a government subservient to the few who vote,
Instead of the Majority of us
who Can Vote and Should Vote.
We need a popularly elected Mayor
and City Council in Gadsden.
That means that we need representatives elected by a greater number of voters.
( 2010 only 7000 +/- votes were cast for mayor. )
